Dro Frehter’s Story
Dro Frehter, a Dragonborn with scales the color of molten steel, was born into a secluded Dragonborn community known as Zharos on the outskirts of the Eldrym Delta in V’yarim. His upbringing was steeped in ancient traditions, with a lifestyle that was largely self-sufficient and centered on preserving ancestral customs. The Dragonborn of Zharos were proud and reclusive, valuing their privacy and shunning the bustling world beyond their borders. Despite this, Dro always felt an innate restlessness, a yearning that the peaceful life of fishing and farming couldn’t satisfy.
From a young age, Dro’s spirit was fiery and untamed, much like the tales of the ancient dragons his elders would recount. As the rare Dragonborn bitten by wanderlust, he often found himself dreaming of distant lands and grand battles. His natural strength and resilience earned him the role of the village protector, but what Dro sought was more than protection—it was glory. The community elders taught him the ways of their ancestors, including rigorous combat training, channeling his raw power into the path of a barbarian, a path fitting for one who could harness the primal fury that lay within.
Dro’s opportunity to forge his path came when he joined an alliance of heroes called upon to confront the dreaded sorcerer Eladureil, whose dark machinations threatened the continent. The quest took him far from Zharos’s swampy borders, through the shadowed groves of the Luminar Forest, into the formidable peaks of Morgarn, and across the blistering dunes of the Trader’s Expanse. Dro found himself tested like never before, discovering camaraderie in places like Eshkar’s bustling trade hub and learning the ways of cultures foreign to his own.
The campaign against Eladureil was grueling, and each encounter only fueled Dro’s warrior spirit. His role was often at the forefront of battle, relying on his raw strength and innate fury to tear through the ranks of Eladureil’s minions. Yet, over time, the weight of constant warfare and the close calls with death began to take their toll. When Eladureil was finally defeated, a weary Dro retreated back to Zharos, seeking solace in the simple life he once wished to escape.
Years passed in relative peace, with Dro now a respected elder, his tales of heroism shared among the younger Dragonborn who looked up to him. Despite the quiet life, a part of him always longed for the vitality of the battlefield, the pull of adventure still calling to him like a siren song. His restlessness grew silent but palpable, an ember waiting to ignite once more.
As whispers of a new dark power began to echo across the realm, the tales reaching even the secluded marshlands of Zharos, Dro realized that the world once again teetered on the edge of chaos. The thrill of battle and glory awaited him beyond the horizon. Determined to seize the opportunity to quench his thirst for adventure, Dro bid his farewell to a tearful Zharos, setting out to uncover the source of this new evil threatening Alfheim.
Currently, Dro is making his way towards the Kingdom of Dan, seeking signs of the rising darkness and any companions who might join him on this new quest. With every step, his resolve strengthens, feeling the flame of his inner dragon burn brighter with anticipation for the new challenges that lie ahead.
